IP Next-Generation Network Requirements for Scalable and Reliable Broadcast IPTV Services

چکیده
For service providers, the ability to offer broadcast IPTV services with high availability and reliability is imperative to remain competitive in an increasingly crowded industry. Meeting customer expectations for a high-quality IPTV service requires a network architecture and routing system that can handle the challenges of delivering broadcast video to millions of users simultaneously while also handling video on demand (VoD) as needed. The Cisco IP Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) architecture and the Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System meet these requirements through a unique combination of outstanding platform scalability and reliability and efficient multicast for video distribution across the network. Together, these solutions from Cisco Systems allow service providers to deliver entertainment-grade video services over an IP NGN.
